Between the 25th April and 13th June, customer’s bank card details were stolen from the online platform used by Claire’s Accessories – the jewellery and accessories retailer. The card details were skimmed by Magecart software, meaning that cyber criminals gained access to these details to use elsewhere.

There is limited information as to how many customers have been affected, but the retailer is now recommending that shoppers should check their statements and consider changing their card details. Consumers who may have shopped online at Claire’s during this period are advised to monitor their account statements for unauthorised charges, and alert their card provider’s fraud team if they see anything suspicious.

The accessories retailer is currently investigating the issue so that affected customers can be notified.
